Content policy

Every offer sent through YURN passes content review — on both tiers, with no exceptions and no pay-to-skip. This policy is the complete list of what the review enforces. Most of it comes from two sources: carrier rules for commercial SMS (which bind us and you alike), and consumer-protection law.

Every message sent through YURN must be a genuine commercial offer from a verified business to people who opted in to hear from it. That single sentence rules out most of what follows. If your offer is a real deal, with a real deadline, redeemable in a stated way, from the business the customer actually followed — you will essentially never hit this policy.

These are rejected regardless of wording, targeting, or age-gating claims, because carriers prohibit them from this class of messaging entirely:

  • Sexual content — adult content, adult services, or sexually explicit material of any kind.
  • Hate — content demeaning any group, or promoting organizations that do.
  • Alcohol — offers involving alcohol without verified age gating (which the Free tier’s shared sending channel cannot provide; talk to us before composing alcohol offers on any tier).
  • Firearms — firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories.
  • Tobacco and vape — all tobacco and nicotine-delivery products.
  • Cannabis and CBD — regardless of state legality; this is a federal carrier rule.
  • Controlled substances — including prescription drugs and offers to prescribe.
  • Gambling — casinos, sports betting, lotteries, raffles with paid entry.
  • Lending and debt relief — payday loans, debt consolidation, credit repair.

Content in an allowed category can still be rejected for how it’s written:

  • Deceptive pricing — inflated “original” prices, discounts measured against prices you never charged, or “free” offers with undisclosed conditions.
  • Fake urgency — “last chance” or “final hours” on offers that recur. Real deadlines only.
  • Unsubstantiated claims — health or medical claims, weight-loss promises, income or earnings guarantees.
  • Non-offer content — political messages, fundraising, general announcements, review solicitation, hiring posts. YURN’s carrier registration covers commercial offers; other content types endanger deliverability for every merchant on the platform.
  • Third-party promotion — offers for a business other than the verified account holder. Your followers opted in to you.

Every offer must have:

  1. A real expiry — a date and time at which it genuinely ends.
  2. A stated redemption — how the customer gets the deal (“show your ticket at the counter”).
  3. Honest quantity — if you cap it at 12, there are 12.

Review returns one of three outcomes:

  • Approved — the offer proceeds to sending. Most offers, within seconds.
  • Rejected — you see the specific reason in the portal and can edit and resubmit immediately, without penalty.
  • Escalated — borderline cases go to a human reviewer instead of being auto-rejected. You’re notified either way.

Every decision is logged with its full reasoning. If you believe a rejection is wrong, reply from the portal — a human reads disputes against the logged record.

Repeated attempts to evade review (resubmitting rejected content with cosmetic changes, misleading category claims) are grounds for suspension under the Terms of Service.
