Set up in five minutes

A Free-tier merchant can be live — QR printed, first followers joining — in under five minutes. Here’s the whole path.

1. Sign up

Go to the merchant portal and enter your business email. We send a magic link — no password to invent or forget. Click it and you’re in.

2. Verify your business

Before you can send anything, we verify you’re a real business:

• Email verification happens automatically with the magic link.
• Business verification on the Free tier matches your business name, address, and phone against your Google Business Profile. It usually takes seconds. (Pro merchants verify with their EIN and legal name during carrier registration instead.)
• Domain verification is optional — adding a DNS TXT record at your domain raises your trust score, but it never blocks you.

You can explore the portal and even collect followers before verification completes, but sending is locked until it does.

3. Claim your keyword

Your keyword is what customers text to join — short, memorable, uppercase: TONYS, BEANHOUSE, RIVERGYM. Keywords are first-come, first-served across YURN’s shared number, so claim yours early. Pick something people could type from memory, because some will.

4. Download and place your QR

The portal’s QR studio generates your code: your keyword baked into a pre-filled text, high error correction, optional logo badge in the center. Download it as SVG or a print-ready PDF at 2, 4, or 8 inches, or as a fold-ready table tent.

Print it and put it where transactions happen — the counter, the window, the receipt. See the QR placement guide for what works where, and note that each downloadable asset is tracked separately so you can tell which placement is earning scans.

5. Post your first offer

Compose is one screen: title, body, quantity, expiry, redemption instruction. The live preview shows the exact SMS your followers will receive, with a real character and segment count, plus your audience size before you hit send.

A good first offer is specific, expiring, and easy to redeem:

6 tables open tonight at 7 — 30% off your whole check when you sit before 8pm. Show your ticket at the host stand.

Your offer passes an automated review (usually seconds — see writing offers that clear review), then sends. Watch claims arrive on your dashboard in real time.
